Apple, a company best known for creating the market for the smartphones we use today, is reportedly in the midst of designing an all-electric vehicle. The project, nicknamed ‘Titan,” is detailed to mimic the design of a minivan.
Multiple sources have indicated that Apple is recruiting some high-profile automotive experts to help in the effort, led by ex-Ford Engineer Steve Zadesky. Team members include former Mercedes-Benz Research Chief Johann Jungwirth, who joined Apple last fall, and Canadian Auto Aanufacturer Magna Steyr. Elon Musk, founder and CEO of Tesla Motors, has even reported that Apple has aggressively tried to recruit the expertise of some of his employees.
Further information on the topic is unknown at this point, but if these rumors prove to be true, Tesla could be looking at some ‘electrified’ competition in the years to come.
