[Photo: SpeedKore]Take a close look at the photos of the SpeedKore 1970 Dodge Charger Evolution. You would think that with a name like “Evolution”, some components came from an original Charger…Nope! It’s all custom, and it’s all aluminum and carbon fiber. If anything, it’s more closely related to the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, as it houses its 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8. This time, though, it makes a verified 966 horsepower at the rear wheels. SpeedKore builds the majority of the 1970 Dodge Charger Evolution by hand.
[Photo: SpeedKore]It’s just as good looking as the original Charger, without the hassle of shredding a collectable one. SpeedKore hand built the body, ladder frame, aluminum floor-pan and intake manifold. They also added several components for speed including new injectors and smaller pulley. Unfortunately, since it’s not built on an existing car, the Charger “Evolution” may not be considered street legal in every state. It’s not based on an original Challenger, nor is it built on a previously street-legal platform.
Simply put, despite its appearance, the SpeedKore 1970 Dodge Challenger “Evolution” is a new vehicle.
[Photo: SpeedKore]According to the builder, the SpeedKore Charger weighs just 3,200 lbs. If that’s the case, it weighs less than an EcoBoost Mustang. The Evolution has a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission hooked up to that Demon engine. Stopping power is provided by Brembo brakes; six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers in the back.
