Special thanks to autoreview.ru for publishing these photos of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE. This is our first look at the new GLE almost completely unmasked. Earlier in the year, we spied the new GLE in California under heavy camouflage.

Certainly this new GLE is following in the design footsteps of the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan, as well as the Mercedes-Benz CLS Coupe. The front end features a lot of brightwork including the grille and splitter.

Looks are always subjective, so please let us know what you think of the new GLE in the comments below.

Of course, Mercedes has not yet made their official announcements about the new GLE yet. So information about the powertrains has not come out. However, there is a good chance that Mercedes uses the new 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six from the CLS coupe. This engine produces 362 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. Plus, it features a 48-volt mild hybrid system that can provide an extra 22 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque when necessary. This system is mostly used for a mild MPG bump and to smoothen out start/stop tech.

The only design piece we can’t see from these images is how the headlights look. Fortunately, Mercedes have released a small teaser that shows off exactly how the headlights look.

Given that Mercedes is slowly beginning to leak information about the GLE, we expect to learn more about it in the very near future.
