No, you don't have to get it in purple if you don't want to

Oh, that Jeep Rewind is cool, but Jeep will never make it…turns out you’re wrong!

When Jeep rolls out half a dozen or so concepts for Easter Jeep Safari every year, we usually come away with the same sort of commentary. “Oh, some of these look cool, but Jeep will never actually get around to making it”. Well, turns out in the case of last year’s Wrangler-based Rewind concept, that is not the case. Jeep is making a production-spec Rewind edition, and Tommy took a closer look in Moab, where the automaker also dropped the Cherokee Upland concept, which is a preview of the eventual Cherokee Trailhawk.

So, what is the Wrangler Rewind all about? We got our first look at this retro-themed concept last year, when Jeep came to Utah with a two-door ’80s machine. Now, as part of its “Twelve 4 Twelve” campaign of launching a new variant each and every month through 2026, it’s actually bringing the Rewind forward to production. That means the purple paint as well as the crazy tri-color stripes and decals. You don’t get as crazy an interior as last year’s concept, but the seats do still get some colorful contrast stitching, while a pixelated theme for the seatbacks, the top of the gear selector and the special center console plaque.

While the Jeep Wrangler Rewind packs some gold tow hooks, it’s also worth noting this is not a Wrangler 392-based model. Even last year’s concept just packed a 2.0-liter turbo-four, though we’ll have more details (including colors, powertrain options and pricing) next month when the Rewind makes its official debut. This is the sixth drop so far, so we have six more to go to round out the Twelve 4 Twelve launches.
