2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Gets a Hefty Price Bump, Depending on Which Trim You Buy

The new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars more expensive.

When Nathan and I first checked out the fifth-generation Hyundai Santa Fe in New Mexico (where else?), we both liked the big-and-boxy design as well as some of the clever little details its designers incorporated into it. Well, now we know exactly what the latest version of the brand’s popular three-row SUV will cost, and it’s substantially more than the outgoing car.

Hyundai’s base model Santa Fe SE now comes in at $35,345 for 2024, including the $1,395 destination fee. That represents a $5,260 price hike over the equivalent 2023 model and repositions the Santa Fe much closer to the larger Palisade in terms of price, rather than the compact Tucson.

Here’s how the rest of the lineup shakes out compared to the outgoing Santa Fe:

Trim2024 PriceDifference from 2023
SE$35,345+$5,260
SEL$37,845+$4,060
XRT$41,995+$6,410
Limited$44,745+$4,010
Calligraphy$47,895+$3,960
SEL Hybrid$38,345+$800 (vs. Blue)
Limited Hybrid$45,245+$3,840 (vs. SEL Premium)
Calligraphy Hybrid$48,395+$5,190 (vs. Limited)

While the Santa Fe Hybrid trims were renamed to mirror the gas-only model, most of the lineup carries over with the same trim walk as before. The more rugged-looking XRT comes strictly as an all-wheel drive model, while the rest of the range comes in front-wheel drive configuration by default, with AWD as an option.

Gas versions of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe come with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, making 277 horsepower (down from 281 in the past generation) and 311 lb-ft of torque (same as before). The standard turbo powertrain, with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic, accounts for some of the price difference, at least on the lower trims where you only got a naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter engine before.

The Hybrid, for its part, uses a 1.6-liter turbocharged gas engine and an electric motor, and comes coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It also gets a power boost to 231 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque, up 5 hp and 13 lb-ft from before.

No plug-in hybrid version of the new Santa Fe is available for the U.S. market.

Along with the exterior redesign, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe also gets a completely new interior, with dual 12.3-inch infotainment screens and an upright dashboard being the main focus. The latest setup offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, while you can even get two wireless charging pads for the driver and front passenger. The center console has a dual-hinged lid that you can actually open from the front and the back, making that storage area accessible to second-row passengers.

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe should hit dealerships in March.
