These Are the Top 10 Classics Most Likely To Appreciate In 2019

They may be cheap now, but they won’t be for long.

Hagerty just published their list of the 25 hottest collector cars to kick off 2019. Their rating is based on a 0-100 scale. A 50-point rating indicates that a vehicle is keeping pace with the overall market. If a vehicle scores higher than that, it’s appreciating faster than the overall market. The firm uses a data driven approach looking at the number of vehicles insured through Hagerty, as well as auctions and private sales.

If you’ve followed these trends in the collector car market, the top performers may not be much of a surprise to you. Those of you who don’t, however, may be surprised to see the sorts of cars that are beating the market at the moment. As tech-savvy crossovers become the norm, it seems people are gravitating toward old-school trucks and SUVs. In fact, the winner on the list has held its championship crown as the top appreciator three times in a row.

In this TFLclassics video, Tommy counts down the top 10 highest appreciators in 2019. The rating doesn’t necessarily guarantee the cars will appreciate wildly throughout the year. Nor does it mean that car won’t suddenly drop for whatever reason. However, it’s an indicator of where the market is currently positioned.
