We first had a chance to experience the 2019 Toyota RAV4 at this year’s New York Auto Show. Now, though, Roman and Andre finally had the chance to drive one in Austin, Texas. There are a ton of new features to talk about, but driving impressions and some other information are under embargo until next month. Consider this a sneak peek into the next-generation model – stay tuned to TFLcar.com for more updates!
Styling
The most noticeable change with the 2019 Toyota RAV4 is the new styling. The new styling is a pretty drastic departure from the previous model. It looks more rugged and aggressive – a bit like a miniature 4Runner. If you ask us, it looks pretty good. Drop a comment below and tell us what you think of how 2019 Toyota RAV4 looks!
Powertrains
The 2019 RAV4 will be available with a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four cylinder, similar to the one found in the Camry. In the 2019 Camry, that engine makes 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, altough official power figures aren’t available for the RAV4 yet. The 2019 RAV4 sends power to your choice of the front, or all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.
As with the current generation, Toyota will also make a hybrid available in 2019. Toyota hasn’t revealed the official MPG figures, but they say that the RAV4 will sport class-leading MPG.
Pricing
Toyota has not revealed official pricing for the 2019 model year.As the RAV4 is Toyota’s best-selling vehicle, we think that the pricing won’t be too far off the current model. For reference, the base RAV4 starts at $24,660. However, this is the Adventure model, which features some extra goodies. That model currently starts at $27,950.
