Top Cars and Brands That Lose and Hold Their Value the Most [Video]

Think your vehicle holds its value after so many years? It actually may not.

TFLcar’s Roman Mica and Andre Smirnov set out recently to find which cars and brands hold and lose their value the most.

Roman recently spoke with a representative from ALG, a company that uses mathematical formulas and other statistics to determine the value of a vehicle after a certain period of time, to come up with the list.

For the brand of vehicles, Subaru and Land Rover held their values the most. Subaru purposely doesn’t flood the market with its vehicles, making them more sought after with fewer available for resale.

The Land Rover is popular now with people looking for a more luxury brand that also provides all-wheel drive performance.

The specific vehicles that hold their values the most are the Jeep Wrangler and the Toyota Tacoma. With supply not meeting demand, both vehicles are sought after by consumers, making them retain their values. For example, a 1-year-old Tacoma costs the same as a brand new one since Toyota can’t build them fast enough to meet demand.
