Jeep Wrangler Ghost Towns Wheelin’ Adventure: Exploring Caribou Colorado – DiffLock Ep. 11

They may be used, but will a set of 2014 BFGoodrich off-road tires get a new 2016 Jeep Wrangler to a ghost town west of Boulder?

In this week’s episode of the TFLcar video series DiffLock, Tommy Mica set out to see if the aggressive tires were up to the challenge to get the Jeep to the former silver mining town of Caribou, Colorado.

The used tires are noticeably more aggressive than the factory-installed tires. Tommy noticed the grip and feel of the road was different but yet not too uncomfortable.

Once the off-road tires were on, Tommy headed out to see if car could defy Mother Nature. His destination promised to be a gold mine if he could reach it.

The town in the late 1800s was home to about 3,000 people in its heyday and featured a mining operation, brewery, salons, a church and even its own newspaper.

However, an incident happened that caused the population to rapidly decline, eventually leaving a brief glimpse of its past glory with just some of the foundations of the homes still standing.

Did Tommy make it to Caribou? What happened to the residents of that town? Find out what happened by watching the full video above.
