The current generation of the Kia Sportage has been around since 2011. It is time to give the compact crossover a thorough redesign. Jace H. sent in these image of the 2017 Kia Sportage prototype testing at high altitude of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
This test vehicle has a thick layer of cladding, but the distinct Kia grille design and the door design are visible.
The nest Sportage will likely share a lot of the mechanical components with the 2016 Hyundai Tucson that recently launched. That means the quick little 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline T-GDI engine with 175 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque may find its way under the Sportage hood.
This redesigned crossover will make a world debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show next month. The company provided the following two teaser images of the Sportage.
Take a look at the wheel design on the prototype and the teaser images. It appears that the production version will keep the stylish wheel design elements of the show car.
