The 2016 Mazda MX-5 has landed on American soil. Rejoice fellow Miata fans!
Hundreds of Soul Red Launch Edition MX-5s have disembarked from the cargo vessel Phoenix Leader. Only the port paperwork stands in the way of the dealers receiving these highly anticipated roadsters.
While never a straight line rocket, the MX-5 has nonetheless remained driver’s car. The 2.0L SkyActive engine is good for 155 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque, and the 6-speed manual transmission is a joy to row. Its light curb weight and near perfect weight distribution will likely make it a joy to toss around the corners.

Prices will range from around $25,000 for the Sport model to just over $31,000 for the Grand Touring.
Note to fans in Southern Californa: a quick web search revealed that the last known port of the Phoenix Leader was in San Diego. Get thee to the shipyard!
