The all-new 2016 Lincoln MKX made its debut on Tuesday at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS 2015). Based on the forthcoming Ford Edge platform, the MKX, with an available twin-turbocharged, 2.7-L EcoBoost V-6 packing more than 330 HP, will offer a high degree of exclusivity when it arrives in showrooms later this year (fall 2015).
Watch Kumar Galhotra, president of the Lincoln Motor Company, reveal almost everything you ever wanted to know about the 2016 Lincoln MKX in the TFLcar video below:
Opting for the basic 2016 Lincoln MXK will net a naturally-aspirated 3.7-L V-6, good for around 300 HP. Front-wheel-drive and a six-speed automatic transmission will be standard, with an all-wheel-drive system optional.
Unique to the new MKX is the availability of an industry-exclusive Revel-branded sound system. Powered by a 20-channel high-voltage hybrid amplifier and 19 speakers, the premium setup will be standard on the MKX “Black Label” trim, and available on the MKX “Reserve.” A 13-speaker Revel system is standard equipment on “Select” and “Reserve” trims.
Lincoln says the new MKX is available in four different trims including two “Black Label” editions, which are inspired respectively by the fashion, lifestyle and art scene of 1920s Paris and the excitement, passion and pageantry of high-stakes thoroughbred horse racing.
