What do you get when you stretch the 2015 Lexus RC F and give it four doors? It is this 2016 Lexus GS F. You get the same tantalizing naturally aspirated 5.0L V8 with 467 horsepower @ 7,100 rpm and 389 lb-ft of torque @ 4,800 rpm. This is a highly advanced motor that utilizes both Otto and Atkinson combustion cycles to maximize power and efficiency depending on the need. The quick-shifting 8-speed automatic is here as well.
The RC F is a smooth and powerful grand touring coupe that will growl when asked. You can expect much of the same with the GS F sedan, except you can also bring two or three more people along.
Company’s new Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD) is also here. The TVD features three operating modes:
- Standard (default) – provides a balance of agility and firmness
- Slalom – emphasizes steering response
- Track – emphasizes control during high-speed circuit driving
Lexus has not yet announced availability, fuel economy, or price. However, we know that the GS F is using a 112.2 inch wheelbase and weighs 4,034 pounds. This is only 76 pounds more than the RC F coupe.
