Big American luxury is coming back with the all-new 2016 Cadillac CT6. This is the car go into hand-to-hand combat against the likes of the Audi A8, BMW 7-series, Jaguar XJ, Lexus LS, and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. That’s a tough company to be in, but Cadillac’s recent ATS and CTS sedans show that the company can deliver the goods and compete at the highest levels of design, features, and craftsmanship.

The 2016 CT6 is a result of an overwhelmingly positive response to the Elmiraj and Ciel concept cars. The public said “make the concept real”, and Cadillac is trying to do just that. Check out the large V-shaped grille in the shot below.

This prototype was not afraid to venture to 12,000 feet of elevation on a snow-packed road, so all-wheel-drive is definitely part of the equation. All competitors offer AWD and it is a must-have luxury car feature. The prototype also shows off four exhaust tips. It’s likely that company’s twin-turbo 3.6L V6 will be the base engine and provide at least 410 horsepower. However, don’t discount a big V8 just yet for this big American sports-luxury sedan.
