Does the 2014 Audi S4 have what it takes to become TFL race track star? It does have an excellent 3.0L supercharged V6 with likely underrated 333 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, going to all four wheels via Audi’s Quattro system and a 6-speed manual transmission.
The S4 starts at $48,400, but this test car has all the luxury and performance goodies, including the 19 inch rims and performance rubber for as tested price of $56,045. Audi claims a 0-60 mph sprint of 4.9 seconds. This is impressive for a 3,869 pound sedan.
Our experience with the car has been more than positive. The S4 combines all the right ingredients into one solid sports sedan. The engine is powerful and smooth. The 6-speed manual transmission is quick and has a great feel. The sound emanating from the quad exhaust is music to any enthusiast’ ear. The seats are supportive and comfortable. The rear seat room is not the best, but other than that it is very difficult to find fault with this sedan.
