TFLcar is arriving in Virginia today to drive the refreshed 2015 VW Jetta and many other new Volkswagens. While the video episodes are coming up in just a few days, lets preview the new Jetta now. The entry-level sedan with the non-turbo 2.0L 115 horsepower four-cylinder engine and a 5-speed manual will start at $16,215 when it comes to the dealerships soon in the third quarter of this year.
The Jetta is still offered with five power trains: base 2.0L, 1.8T, 2.0L TDI, 2.0T GLI, and the 1.4T Hybrid. The 2.0L TDI is the upgraded unit that you will also find in the 2015 VW Golf and other upcoming Volkswagen products. It now makes 150 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The EPA estimates the diesel at 46 MPG on the highway with the 6-speed manual transmission. The other engines are carry overs from the 2014 model year.
The face-lifted Jetta is wearing a new upper and lower grille design and updated headlights. The profiles remains the same, but the rear get refreshed LED tail-lights. The styling changes are subtle.
The 2015 VW Jetta is bringing a lot more driver assistance and safety equipment. We’re talking Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Traffic Alert, Forward Collision Warning System, and Park Distance Control.
