It was only several days ago that we reported on the renderings of the upcoming all-new 2016 Kia Sorento. And now we have physical proof that this new and larger crossover is undergoing development. We received these spy images of the prototype testing high in the Rocky Mountains, thanks to mtnmedic76.
The next generation Sorento will be built on the Sedona minivan platform and is expected to grow in size. It will likely make its world debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show this November. It is expected to have five or seven passenger configurations and be powered by either a 3.3L V6 or the 2.0L turbo four. All wheel drive will still be offered.
The overall shape of the vehicle is evident in these images even with some cladding and camouflage. The overall design follows the recent theme of the Kia Cadenza and the K900. The sleek shape and LED taillights add to the premium feel. We are looking forward to the official debut.
