2015 Ford Expedition First Drive Review: Better than the New Suburban? [Video]

Expedition First Drive

In our latest first drive video review, Roman and Nathan take a 2015 Ford Expedition for a spin in West Virginia to see how it compares to the Chevy Suburban. The Expedition comes in two different wheelbase lengths, a shorter one for competition against the Tahoe, and a longer to battle the Suburban. One big change for 2015 is that the Expedition is only available with the 3.5L EcoBoost V6. There is no longer an option for a V8.

Ford does offer the new Expedition in a Platinum edition, which sits above the King Ranch in terms of luxury. Just don’t tell the Texans that King Ranch isn’t the best trim! In all seriousness, Texas is a huge market for these types of vehicles, and Ford offers luxury, power towing performance in one package. We think people will like the trim options, the towing capacity, the independent rear suspension, and the looks, but will they be okay with only a turbo V6 as the only engine option?

The guys share their thoughts on that subject and more in the latest video first drive below. We look forwards to getting this in later in the year for a proper road test and comparison against the Suburban. Until then, enjoy the video!
