2013 Ford Explorer Sport 0-60 MPH Mile High Drive and Review

The new 2013 Ford Explorer Sport is a family hauler, but it’s also the fastest Explorer that you can buy.

Under the hood of this Crossover rocket is Ford’s 3.5L V6 Ecoboost twin turbo engine that comes straight out of the Ford Taurus SHO.

In other words, think of the 2013 Ford Explorer Sport as an all-wheel-drive Ford Taurus SHO that can seat up to 7 people.

In this TFLcar drive and review we find out just how fast the Ford Explorer Sport with go from 0-60 MPH @ a mile above sea level.

Editor’s note: I didn’t like the newest Explorer when it first came out. It was too mushy, too slow-witted and anything but fun. I never thought Ford would have the stones to build something like the Ford Explorer Sport. Simply put, it is everything I wanted in the new Explorer and more.

The only issue I have is its huge price.

Paying about 50-large for anything that’s not German feels totally wrong. Still, when you consider that the Explorer can hold seven in total comfort and tare the doors off of many sports sedans (especially at high altitude) the Ford Explorer Sport makes much more sense.
