Video: 2013 Scion FR-S First Drive Racetrack Review

The 2013 Scion FR-S is one of the most exciting new cars to hit the showrooms as it heralds the return of the affordable Japanese rear-wheel-drive sports car.

Along with the new Subaru BRZ the Scion FR-S is a hoot to drive both on the race track and on the road.

We recently had the chance to spend the day with the 2013 Scion FR-S and test the car from 0-60 MPH, drive it through the scenic Red Canyon Mountains, and of course put in some hot laps on a racetrack.

We came away impressed by this joint effort by Toyota and Subaru. Both the six speed automatic and the six speed manual are some of the best transmissions in the business. The brand new 200 HP Boxer engine is well-balanced powerplant that makes the Scion FR-s and of course the Subaru BRZ a unique edition to both car manufacturers.

Check out this first drive review as we put the new 2013 Scion FR-S to the test on both the road and racetrack just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada.
