Think of the new Jaguar C-X75 Concept car as a Chevy Volt on crazy strong steroids

Perhaps the best way to think of the new range-extended Jaguar C-X75 Concept car is to image it as a very beautiful Chevy Volt on some crazy strong steroids.

Sure it has four 195-horsepower electric motors…one powering each wheel.

And sure it has two 96-horsepower micro-gas turbines that charge up the car’s plig-in li-ion battery pack.

And yes it will go 0 to 60 in about in 3.4 seconds.

And of course it has a top speed of 205 mph.

And we can’t forget that it should have an extended range of 560 miles.

And yes it weights only 2,970-pound and with a total power output of 780 horsepower and 1,187 pound-feet of torque.

But if you discount all of those facts and just consider that it runs on battery power alone until the battery get depleted, just like the Volt, after which the engine charges up the battery, just like the Volt, you’ll understand immediately why it’s a Volt on crazy strong steroids.

However unlike the Volt, the range-extended Jaguar electric supercar is a concept while the Volt goes on sale very soon.

For now we can only dream and settle for the old school gas powered Jaguar XK below…which isn’t such a bad thing.
