First Porsche built an SUV and a 4-seater car, and now Land Rover says it will build a two-wheel-drive compact Range Rover in 2011.
The new Land Rover will be called the LRX and it will come in both a 2WD and a 4WD version and Land Rover says it will be the cleanest car they've ever built "less than" 130 g/km of CO2.
Land Rover's managing
director Phil Popham says, "A 2WD option is just one way in which we are
developing our vehicles efficiency whilst adding to the Land Rover
range and expanding our customer base."
"We will continue to make the 'world's
finest all-terrain vehicles' for those customers who require 4WD but
will also now offer an alternative to those that don't," Popham added.
