GM continues to revamp its SUV lineup, and the Buick Enclave is due for an overhaul in the coming months.

Behold, our first official look — or at least an impression — of the brand-new 2025 Buick Enclave. After Chevrolet reimagined the Traverse and GMC brought us an equally new Acadia, it makes sense that we’re hearing about Buick’s three-row family hauler now. This teaser confirms the new Enclave is on the near horizon, and that it will look markedly different from the current SUV, bringing in styling cues from the aptly named Wildcat EV Concept.

Buick chose to tease the upcoming Enclave by touting its substantial sales milestones during 2023. In fact, the SUV-exclusive brand grew by 61% year-over-year, with the small Encore GX nearly doubling its volume and the midsize Envision not too far behind. The brand also launched the Envista, a coupe-fied version of the Encore GX, last year. Thanks to the relatively rapid pace, Buick claims (by way of its own data) that it is “the fastest growing mainstream brand in the US”. For reference, the Enclave’s sales figures for 2023 (39,411 units) represented a bounce-back from 2022’s 30,533 sales, a low point for the model since GM originally introduced it in 2007.

“With this first glimpse of the next-generation Enclave, the flagship of our lineup, we’re continuing to lead with design, technology and Buick’s unique premium persona,” said VP of Buick and GMC Duncan Aldred. While the silhouette above doesn’t show much of that persona just yet, the automaker did also show a few sketches hinting at the third-generation SUV’s exterior design.

Of course, the actual production model will dial things back a bit from the designers’ initial concept sketches. Nevertheless, it looks like the 2025 Buick Enclave will take on a more aggressive look, and one that’s at least distinctive from the ruggedized Traverse and the smoother, more luxurious looking Acadia.

While there’s no confirmation of what will power the new Enclave yet, we can make some educated guesses from those two other launches. GM is moving away from the old “LFY” 3.6-liter V6 engine to a new 2.5-liter “LK0” turbocharged unit, putting out 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet and GMC’s new three-row family haulers also use a new 8-speed automatic transmission setup.

We’ll have more details on the 2025 Buick Enclave “later this year”, according to the company’s statement. Interestingly, the company actually dropped the base MSRP for the Enclave by $900, to $45,940 (including destination) for the Essence FWD model. When it does actually launch, I suspect the new Enclave will likely run at least a bit closer to $50,000 to start, with the top-end Avenir model capping the range out at just over $60,000.
