Keogh moves into VW Group’s top North American spot on November 1.

Volkswagen Group of America named Scott Keogh, former Audi of America head, to lead the brand’s North American operations. As the new CEO, he replaces current North American CEO Hinrich J. Woebcken, who has been in the position since April 2016. From November 1 on, Woebcken will “continue to be available to the company in the North American region as senior executive strategy adviser,” according to Volkswagen’s statement.

49-year-old Keogh has been with Volkswagen Group since 2006, when he joined Audi as chief marketer. Since then, he was appointed president of Audi of America in 2012. Under his tenure, Audi doubled its sales numbers in North America between 2010 and 2015. He comes into the top spot at Volkswagen of America as the company attempts to rebrand itself after the dieselgate scandal broke in 2015.
