The Jeep J-Wagon Concept has a Prototype Hood for a Snorkel [Video]

Jeep J-Wagon Concept: A Jeep with a factory snorkel?

The Jeep J-Wagon Concept displayed at the 2018 Easter Jeep Safari is a rolling showcase for Jeep Performance Parts components that are, or will be available to the public soon. Beginning life as a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara, the Jeep Performance Parts team added Brass Monkey interior decor, Katzkin seating surfaces, slick 17-inch wheels, big (five-inch) LED lights and the unique Brass Monkey (copper/brass/gold-ish) accented exterior.

The J-Wagon Concept comes equipped with the new 2.0-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine hooked up to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It drove just like a regular Jeep Wrangler JL, but with some tasteful JPP goodies.

The most notable additions are the exterior roof rack, which FCA designed to work with the Freedom Top – and it looks premium. Our favorite consists of two components: the Jeep Performance Parts’ snorkel for the new Jeep Wrangler JL (Mopar 82215350 Snorkel Kit for 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL) and the prototype hood that should be available soon that’s built to work with the snorkel. The hood has a flap on the passenger’s side that can lead to the filter box. It can work with a performance air filter or be opened as an inlet for the snorkel.

It looks pretty cool.

The rest of the Jeep J-Wagon Concept looks like a glitzy Jeep product that mixes a bit of luxury with real off-road ability. It also looks like it could be a production-ready vehicle. At the very least, it looks like it would be the easiest of the seven concepts to drive. It would also be (fairly) easy to reproduce.

Maybe.
