Here is the refreshed 2018 Hyundai Sonata from the 2017 New York Auto Show

The 2018 Hyundai Sonata represents an important step for Hyundai. It is one of their best selling cars and it competes in one of the most competitive segments in the industry. We were lucky to get John Shon, Manager of Product Planning Hyundai Motor America to take us through the changes.

This is a significant design update for the 2018 Hyundai Sonata. Rather than a simple tweak to the headlights and taillights, Hyundai opted to redesign the hood, decklid and some of the side sheet-metal pon the side. Add to that new 16, 17 and 18-inch wheels too. The engine choices remain the same, but there is a new eight-speed offered with the 2.0-liter turbo.

The interior of the 2018 Hyundai Sonata has gone through some changes as well. Updated components, such as the parts (dials and switches) on the center stack and updated infotainment electronics add to the upgraded feel throughout. Combined with updated seating surfaces, it gives the interior a more luxurious look and feel.

While pricing has not been released, Hyundai did say the 2018 Hyundai Sonata will go on sale at the end of the second quarter of 2017.
