TFL Top 5: Cool Collectible Cars You Can Buy Today on Craigslist [Video]

A car and a boat all in one vehicle? Sounds impossible, but it’s not. And it’s now available on Craigslist.

TFL’s Roman Mica and Nathan Adlen recently found a 1968 Amphicar and four other “unicorn” collectible cars on Craigslist that would appeal to most car collectors. The duo counted down their top five picks and a bonus find after scouring Craigslist to see if the average person count find and buy a sought-after collectible car.

The Amphicar is being sold for $48,000, which may seem like a steep price to some. However, Roman and Nathan said that with the car being a collectible and with it serving as a car and a boat, the price may be just right. The vehicle has a four-cylinder Triumph Herald engine inside.

The Amphicar wasn’t know for its reliability and it tends to rust a lot, but it has a lot of character being that it’s both a car and a boat. The owner said the vehicle is in good shape.

Another vehicle Roman and Nathan found was a 1972 Citroen SM, a French car with an Italian engine courtesy of Maserati. The car they found has a 2.7-liter, V6 engine for $6,000.

The car doesn’t run but the engine does spin. The car, which had some reliability issues, appeals to collectors because it was very futuristic for its time.

For James Bond enthusiasts, Craigslist has a 1990 Lotus Esprit for sale for $35,000. That version of the supercar was one of the last with a turbo before switching to a V8.

Roman and Nathan said the vehicle is coming up in price now because people realize they can get an affordable supercar that’s also super fast.

Which vehicle from the swinging 70s made it as their number one pick? What other vehicles are on the list? And, which one is Roman and Nathan’s bonus pick? Find out by watching the complete TFL video.
