The next generation Land Rover Discovery will be officially revealed at the 2016 Paris Auto Show on Sep 28th. It’s just a few short days away. However, here is very lightly camouflaged 2018 Land Rover Discovery prototype parked in a Macy’s parking lot. Why did the prototype go to the mall before the big show? Perhaps, it’s to get a nice new suit? (Sorry, could not resist…)
Big thanks to Kendra M. for providing all of the prototype image you see here.
This three-row SUV will no longer use the LR4 naming convention. It will simply be called the Discovery, as it always should have been. Will it be a 2017 or a 2018 model in the United States? We don’t know this for sure yet, but 2018 is more likely. This new luxury off-roader is the next addition to the Discovery family of vehicles, which already has the Discovery Sport.
Check out these interior shots that Kendra managed to get. The dash and the center console are carefully covered, but the folded third-row seats are visible in the back.
The new Discovery is expected to use at least two engine options: a supercharged gasoline V6 or a turbocharged diesel V6. There are also rumors of a hybrid model.
The 2018 Discovery will have some unique high-tech features, and we will bring you all the details when it’s unveiled next week.
