2017 Chevrolet Camaro 50th Anniversary

Even though the Chevrolet Camaro is turning 50 in August, the iconic sports car doesn’t show signs of fading after a half-century on the road.

During Chevy’s planned birthday celebration for the Camaro in August, the American car company plans to display the new 2017 Camaro ZL1 and 1LE models.

The display of the new Camaros will take place on Saturday, Aug. 20 during the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit, which will also feature vehicles from the past six generations of the Camaro. Chevy plans to hold activities starting on Thursday, Aug. 18 and continue them on Friday and into Saturday.

Tours of the Lansing Grand River plant, the home of the Camaro, will happen on Aug 18, a special “Camaros and Coffee” event will take place in Detroit on Aug 19, and the display and Woodward Dream Cruise will take place Aug. 20. Check out their website for more information.

The Camaro has changed a lot in the six generations since 1966, as the slide show below clearly demonstrates. Which generation is your favorite? Start the discussion in the comments below.
