Audi is doubling down on the diesel technology in United States with introduction of several new TDI powered vehicles. Â This 2014 Audi A8L TDI is one of these cars. Â It retains all the luxuries of the A8. It’s available in short wheel base and this long “L” model. Â The 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel is quite, clean, and very torquey. Â EPA rates this car at 28 MPG combined. Â We saw nearly 29 MPG average and up to 41 MPG on highway only runs. Â Impressive.

FYI. There is some confusion about the model year for the refreshed A8. Â The facelifted A8 with the new Matrix LED lights will be a 2015 model year for United States. Â So this this A8 is still a 2014. Â The 2015 Audi A8 will be available in the later part of 2014.
