2013 Chevrolet Traverse First Driven & Reviewed

The 2013 Chevrolet Traverse has been restyled and, according to General Motors, has been given a more athletic and stylish makeover. Nothing has changed mechanically, but, given the high marks the Chevrolet Traverse gets for its power and efficiency, that may not be such a bad thing.

The 2013 Chevrolet Traverse competes directly with the Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot and Dodge Durango among others.

Part of the redo is new and funky contrast stitching, ambient lighting and even wood accents. The overall exterior update moves the Chevrolet Traverse into more familiar digs. The exterior is now reminiscent of the Chevrolet car line (which the Traverse is actually related to) and the interior finally gets a look that’s contemporary.

The 8 passenger mover gets GM’s new 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard and the ability to tow up to 5,200 pounds.

Nathan recently had a chance to test drive the new 2013 Chevy Traverse in San Francisco and filed this first drive review.

Check out the video review below to see what’s new with the new 2013 Chevrolet Traverse.

Editor’s note: General Motors flew us out to Northern California to drive their new or substantially updated 2013 vehicles.
