iPhone first look at the 2011 Toyota Sienna SE: Are Minivans really dorky?

Sienna

The 2011 Toyota Sienna LE arrived in my driveway clean, sparkly, and ready for some family abuse.  The Sienna has received a major update for 2011, and because of this and a popular ad campaign (Swagger Wagon, anyone?) the 2011 has a lot to live up to.  And while the LE is not the same trim level as the SE, the excitement is no less tangible for me and my 6 and 8-year-olds.

It's tough to shake the Minivans-Are-Dorky image. How far does a minivan have to go to get it's mojo back (or get some in the first place, one might argue)?  Not that far, it turns out.  With some edgier design elements outside and major functionality inside, the 2011 Sienna looks to have a good shot at revitalizing a segment that's been edged out by SUV's and crossovers in the last several years.  And a funny, catchy ad embracing parenthood doesn't hurt, either.

I look forward to my week in the Sienna.  I'll be singing along with that ad, I'm sure.  Check back for a full review and details of the 2011 Toyota Sienna LE.
