Video: Mentos Rocket Car runs on Coke Zero and makes a big zero calorie mess

Do you remember the guys behind the Mentos/Coke geysers a few years ago.

We'll they are back and this time they have a big time Hollywood director and much bigger budget. In fact their budget is has now stretched to be able to accommodate the rental of an airplane hanger for their latest adventure: A Mentos and Coke powered Rocket Car.

The video below was directed by Rob Cohen of "The Fast and the Furious" and features a 108 two-liter bottles of Coke Zero and 648 Mentos tablets, and of course a rocket car to harness all the Mentos and calorie free coke mess.

Fritz Grobe and Stephen Voltz made the combination of Mentos and Coke famous four years ago when they built a fountain of fizzy fun.

So how far did the rocket car go? It made it whopping 221 feet.

We don't think that Tesla has much to worry about yet when it comes to alternative energy automotive transportation.
