R.I.P. Chevy Kodiak and GMC Topkick

Kodiak

In a sign of the times GM announced today that it would no longer build the Chevy Kodiak and GMC Topkick mid-sized trucks.

GM was trying to sell the C4500, C5500 and C6500 commercial truck business to either Isuzu or Navistar, but the deal was never closed.

Instead, GM will wind down the medium-duty truck business and stop building the monster pick-ups by July 21, 2009.
