2025 Bentley Flying Spur Debuts As a Hybrid V8 Limo With 771 Horsepower on Tap

Sure, the Flying Spur is more about luxury than performance, but that's still a lot of power

Like the Continental GT, the four-door Flying Spur gets a host of important updates.

If you haven’t already poured one out for the 6.0-liter W12’s passing, I’ll give you a moment — and introduce you to Bentley’s new “Ultra Performance Hybrid”. As we’ve already seen with its coupe counterpart, the 2025 Bentley Flying Spur ditches the familiar for a new hybrid V8 setup, but don’t think it’s wanting for power. In fact, this is the most powerful Flying Spur yet thanks to the electric assist, putting out a whopping 771 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. Definitely enough to spill your champagne.

To achieve that sort of grunt, Bentley’s plug-in hybrid setup starts out with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 (pretty standard fare for performance cars these days). Then, you get a 187-horsepower electric motor sandwiched between the engine and the 8-speed automatic transmission. Not only does that aim to provide bursts of power where the gas engine isn’t at its peak output, but it also allows all-electric driving capability for up to 47 miles, thanks to a 25.9-kWh battery.

For most folks who aren’t particularly interested in your “zero emissions” Bentley — look, I get it — it’ll do 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. Not bad, considering this car is guaranteed to be an absolute unit of a performance sedan. The Continental GT isn’t exactly a lightweight, for its part, tipping the scales at around 5,420 pounds…so think heavier than that for the Flying Spur.

Apart from the performance credentials, updates for the 2025 Bentley Flying Spur mainly home in on the look. Again, like the Continental GT, the four-door Flying Spur gets an updated fascia and front bumper, as well as fresh 22-inch wheels. The interior gets new ‘Precision Diamond’ quilted seats, and what Bentley calls a ‘Precision 3D diamond hide’ on the B-pillars and the doors. New seating adjustments to improve posture and comfort and offer automatic climate controls are now available for all four seats, while Bentley promises a world-class tech experience thanks to the ‘My Bentley App Studio’ and a new electrical architecture.

All that is to say, the 2025 Bentley Flying Spur aims to be sharper, more powerful proposition than its predecessor, to say nothing of its high-class rivals including the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Rolls-Royce Ghost (and the Spectre, to some extent).

Like those cars and the last Flying Spur, this new model will certainly demand a hefty chunk of change. Past models started at around $220,000 and once you factor in customization options, the sky’s the limit. Bentley says it will launch the new Flying Spur lineup with this Speed model, with a choice of 101 paint colors, because 100 just isn’t enough, and more than 700 color combinations once you factor in all the interior options. Three audio systems are available including a 1,500-watt Bang & Olufsen setup and a 2,200-watt, 19-speaker Naim system.
