Start your work day off right with this epic winch battle between a Jeep Wrangler and Land Rover Defender!
Okay, so the Land Rover Defender is a 1:10 scale RC car, and the Jeep Wrangler is…well, a Jeep Wrangler. Who will win this epic Wrangler vs. Defender winch tug of war? Actually, it’s quite interesting to see just how sophisticated the RC car is with its aftermarket 1:10 scale Warn winch attached. This TFLcar video is just a bit of fun to start off your work day, as the Defender traverses “off-road” obstacles. At $479.99 MSRP, the Traxxas TRX-4 Trail and Scale isn’t a cheap RC car, but it’s probably one of the more sophisticated you’ve seen.
Traxxas TRX-4 Land Rover Defender RC car – “The specs”
Interestingly, if you think this is just a cheap plastic RC car with a simple electric motor, you’d be mistaken. Just like when you’re modifying a real off-roader, they put some thought into this RC car’s components.
To that end, it has portal axles, for better ground clearance. It has gear reduction at the wheels to eliminate torque twist. It has locking rear differentials to suit your driving needs. Oh, that’s right, it has front and rear locking diffs. It has low-range gearing for “incredible 4-wheel drive pulling torque”, per Traxxas. It even has cruise control!
Yes, obviously this faux Defender is, in the end, just a toy. Still, though, the attention to detail is pretty impressive, as is the Warn winch Tommy fits to pull various objects around the shop.
