What To Do When Your Zenvo ST1 Catches Fire On Top Gear?

Zenvo ST1

It would generally be seen as a good thing to have your car featured on Top Gear, but when your car is the Zenvo ST1 and it catches fire, that’s not so good.

On a recent episode of Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson took the Danish supercar around the track with less than stellar results not once, but twice. The first time there were some issues with the brakes and clutch resulting in a few wisps of smoke.

The second time there was an issue with an intercooler fan that caught fire letting out great gouts of smoke and lots of bright orange flames. Yeah, so, that’s not the best showing ever.

The third time’s the charm right? They sent a new Zenvo ST1 to the good folks at Top Gear and The Stig took it around the track where it posted a disappointing time even accounting for it being a wet lap.

Now the people in Zenvo’s PR department are working overtime to handle the nightmare of having folks say, “Hey, that’s the car that burst into flames on Top Gear!”

They released a statement, acknowledging the issues encountered on the show and making it very clear that the car failed after extreme driving by the Top Gear team. There were also some high points for the Zenvo ST1 supercar that weren’t show on the program, like its 0-62 MPH time of 2.69 seconds.

They wrap it all up by saying that they’re looking forward to another run on the Top Gear track in better conditions. So, looks like fourth time’s the charm?

Watch the Top Gear segment below and see if you’d consider parting with 660,000 £ for the Zenvo ST1…
