The 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT can best be described as sportish.
While is has all of the go fast parts that you’d except from GT car like 17 inch wheels and firmed up suspension, it is missing one vital ingredient to make it a truly sporty car…a powerful engine.
With just 148 HP the 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT doesn’t have enough power to make it fast. That’s a shame because the 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT has the chops to be a sporty drive. The chassis is planted and the suspension is well suited for spirited driving. There is a button on the steering wheel that has three modes: it can make the steering feel mellow, in comfort mode, sporty in sport mode and, well, normal in normal mode.
Some of the members of The Fast Lane Car think it’s the best looking of the Elantra line. It certainly follows the swooping curves and flowing design language of the rest of the Hyundai family. Perhaps that, and the as-tested pricing, confound us as to why this vehicle feels a bit like a missed opportunity
