Once upon a time Volvo’s were Boxy, slow and safe. As you can tell by looking at this brand new 2013 Volvo XC60 turbo, Volvos are no longer boxy. And they are certainly not slow but with new safety features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Alert Control, Distance Alert, and the Blind Spot Information System…they are still very safe.
A couple of months ago Dave reviewed a fully tricked-out R-Design Platinum version of the XC60 and just like that vehicle he was struck at how far Volvo has come from the old boxy station wagons that once were the hallmark of the brand in America.
With a wind swept design, this newest Volvo is sleek, smooth and dare we even say sexy.
With 9.1 inches of ground clearance, this Volvo is a tall car….which might suggest that it doesn’t handle so well with a relatively tall center of gravity. But don’t let that fool you. With adjustable suspension this Volvo stays flat around corners and inspires confidence on the open road.
