Four-time Indy 500 winner A.J. Foyt to replace Trump in Indy Pace car

AJx-inset-community As you may recall from THIS story, real estate developer, turned reality TV show host, turned potential Republican presidential candidate, turned birther Donard Trump was either forced out, or decided to not drive this year’s Indy pace car.

Today we get word that four-time Indy 500 winner A.J. Foyt will be back at Indy driving the 400 horsepower V8 Chevrolet Camaro pace car on Sunday, May 29.

The 76-year-old Texan was invited to take over the pace car duties by Mari Hulman George, the daughter of former Speedway owner Tony Hulman.

Foyt is well known for having been at 35 consecutive 500s as a driver from 1958 to 1992. He won his first Indy car race back in 1961. Unlike Trump Foyt is perhaps the least controversial driver to take up the pace car driving duty later this month.
