Tesla covers more than 10 Million Miles with their Roadsters

The Tesla Roadster is sold in over 30 countries. Thanks to one of the most robust and rewarding rides available, Tesla has now covered more than 10 million miles combined. Now, that’s real-world driving and it sets a record for the greatest collective distances by any electric automaker. Most impressive – considering where Tesla came from and what people expected.

We at TFLCar.com like the Tesla Roadster and see its evolution a constant boon for the burgeoning electric automobile industry. Hopefully, we’ll see a second Tesla vehicle on the streets before too long. As it stands, the Tesla Roadster is now in its fourth iteration. Whenever the new Tesla S hits the market, we will see the last of the Tesla Roadster in its current form.

According to Tesla, “Roadsters have collectively saved 500,000 gallons of fuel and over 5.3 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions. Over 1,500 Roadsters have consistently outperformed the best traditional supercars worldwide, to the delight of their owners.”  – – Tesla Media

Just counting the Tesla Roadsters currently on the road – Tesla has saved over 500,000 gallons of gasoline.

For those of you who have not driven one, the Tesla Roadster is capable of traveling 245 miles on a charge – when driven properly. When driven improperly, you can scream (well, it’s more like a “whirling” noise) from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. It handles better than most cars and is scary-fast out of any corner.  Roman Mica and I drove one over the Rocky Mountains in cold conditions with snow on the road and no SNOW TIRES!

It’s a marvel indeed and I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Here’s that Tesla video I mentioned – enjoy!
