It was way back in 2003 that the world last saw a new Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet. Of course since that time VW has launched the topless Eos as well as the New Beetle convertible, but Volkswagen purist have always longed for original Golf Cabriolet.

Now VW has answered their wishes…OK…not now, but next week at the Geneva Auto Show when the new 2012 Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet officially debuts.

We know a few of the important details such as the Golf’s roof mechanism takes just 9.5 seconds to drop the fabric top, and the roof will go up and down at speeds of up to 18 miles per hour.

Perhaps more importantly we have the photos of the new 2012 Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet below.

No word yet on if and when the 2012 Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet will make it stateside, but keep your fingers crossed if you are a fan of the Golf.
