The 2013 Ford Mustang used in the movie Need for Speed was sold for a tidy $300,000 on Saturday at an event held by Barrett-Jackson Auction Company in West Palm Beach, Florida.
This custom Ford Mustang was used in filming and was also put on display at all the promotional stops for the movie along the way. It has a custom-designed, wide body on Forgiato 22-inch alloy wheels as well as an enlarged lower grille with new air intakes, extended rocker panels, a twin-snorkel hood and low-profile mirrors. Under the hood there’s a V8 engine and the whole thing is finished with a silver paint job and Kona Blue racing stripes.
The Need for Speed Mustang was owned by Ford and auctioned off to benefit the Henry Ford Health System’s efforts to provide healthcare to greater numbers of people. It was founded way back in 1915 and is now one of the leading comprehensive, integrated health systems in the country.
The winner of this special Ford Mustang at auction was David Flynn of Columbiana, Ohio.
