The long-awaited 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will pack plenty of bite with this supercharger. Ford releases another teaser image of the upcoming GT500 that features this big and proud blower. We already knew the newest Shelby machine will make its world debut at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) on January 14th, 2019.  Now we get another little glimpse.

The supercharged shows off the Shelby Cobra symbol, as well as a “hand-built” plaque. Speculation put this supercharged V8 engine output well past the 700 horsepower mark. Naturally, the total power output needs to be high in order to compete against other supercharged muscle cars: the Chevy Camaro ZL1 and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

Ford is also proud to say that the powerful engine will be made at their Romeo Niche-Line engine plant in Romeo, Michigan. Ford also has a proving grounds facility in Romeo.

We are looking forward to seeing the most powerful factory Mustang in Detroit. We really want to hear the full roar of this V8, and get behind the wheel.

The teaser image also reveals that the car will be available (on sale) in Fall 2019. It means the order guide should be available in a few months with deliveries that should start less than a year away.

Here is another fun Mustang – the Bullitt edition with 480 horsepower.
