Ford teams up with Spotify to bring a complete music experience to FordPass members. What is FordPass? It is a new way that Ford is rolling out to engage with consumers. You do not have to be a Ford owner to be a FordPass member. Ford is looking to shift the company from being purely an automobile manufacturer to also providing consumer and mobility services.

The company estimates that an average American spends around 900 hours per year on the go (or mobile). An average consumer also spends close to 25 hours per week listening to music. FordPass is about making life more streamlined, thus the partnership with Spotify and existing partners that include: McDonald’s, 7-Eleven and BP.

Spotify is already one of the apps available via Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system. And now it is part of the FordPass experience. The idea is to be able to enjoy music and other services in or out of the car. How well this works is yet to be seen as FordPass app and experience are not fully rolled out yet.
