Are you wondering what is next for the Land Rover LR4? Well, the next generation of the off-road SUV is getting closer to production, and it will be the 2017 Land Rover Discovery. Yes, the Discovery nameplate is coming back in a big way.
Our spy photographer caught this prototype testing at high altitude and in cold temperatures of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
The camouflaged prototype suggests the overall shape of the next off-roader and lines appear more rounded than on the current LR4. In fact, most angles suggest that the overall design is much inline with the Discovery Vision concept that was shown nearly two years ago.
It’s exciting to see what Land Rover will have in store when considering the powertrains and other features. Will the 2017 Discovery have the “transparent bonnet” feature from the concept? Will it have full remote control or “smart glass” that augments the world around you? This is still unknown.
Here is the Land Rover Discovery Vision concept that was shown at the 2014 New York Auto Show. The concept features the “transparent bonnet” and many innovative technologies.
