The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE450 AMG Coupe and 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE63 AMG Coupe debuted this evening at the 2015 Detroit International Auto Show [NAIAS 2015].   Both vehicles are set to tackle competitors such as the BMW X6.

The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe will feature 4MATIC all-wheel-drive and a bi-turbo V-6 engine with 362 HP and 384 lb-ft of torque.  Amazingly, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE63 AMG Coupe uses a 5.5-L twin-turbocharged V-8 pumping out a massive 577 HP and 561 lb-ft of torque.  Mercedes claims a 0-60 run for the GLE63 AMG Coupe in 4.2 seconds, channeled through 4MATIC all-wheel-drive with a 40:60 front:rear split.

The GLE63 will also feature Mercedes’ AMG Ride Control sports suspension with active roll stabilization, and Active Curve System with Sports-Direct-Steer.

After the GLE63’s debut, the vehicle will make an appearance in the new Jurassic World film, set to release on June 12, 2015.
