The 2014 Mitsubishi iMiEV aims to be the best value all electric vehicle. It has several competitors in the Kia Soul EV and VW e-Golf among others, but the oddly named iMiEV has the lowest starting price of $22,995 and this is before the federal and state EV rebates.

The CT200h returns as the entry-level Lexus Hybrid. It’s a compact car with not a ton of interior space, but it starts at $32,050 and is rated at 43 MPG in the city.

The VW Touareg has been around for a while and it gets a facelift for the 2015 model year. This 2014 Hybrid model is the most expensive Volkswagen vehicle for sale in the United States, starting at $65,655 with destination charges. However, it’s very roomy with many luxurious appointments, lots of power with 380 total horses, can get 24 MPG on the highway, and can also take you off the beaten path as Emme Hall finds out.

The all-new 7th generation Golf TDI grows a little in size, but also picks up a redesigned turbo-diesel engine with 150 horsepower and ability to get 45 MPG on the highway. It starts at $21,995 and can be optioned with the latest convenience and technology features.

The i8 has made it on more than one TFLcar Top 5 list. However, this sexy and fast sports car is also highly efficient. It’s rated at 76 MPGe on a combined cycle and using the Economy mode. It has power and acceleration when you need it, but also the all electric mode when you don’t.
