Editor’s Note: At TFLcar we love classic cars and we know you do as well. That’s why we have partnered with Bring a Trailer to bring you some of the most fun, most iconic, most desirable and unusual cars that can be yours. Once a week, TFL Editors will highlight a classic car that’s on action at BaT.

This week we are starting with a classic BMW M5. This is a car that every car enthusiast should own at least once in their lifetime. This black 1993 US-spec E34 M5 won’t be cheap to fix or maintain, but it is affordable to purchase. We think this is a truly iconic M car that can be users for potentially the price of a new Yaris. The car and auction details are below:

This 1993 BMW M5 was purchased by the seller from its second owner, a relative of the original owner, six years ago. 1993 was the last year of US-spec E34 M5’s, and the seller quotes that less than 200 were made and with options not available on the ’91 and ’92 cars. This one is said to be very well looked after, and features a great looking custom Alcantara M Sport interior and staggered, forged wheels with excellent OEM magnesium brake cooling turbine covers. Said to run very well, the seller notes that most suspension components have recently been refreshed and that all electrics function properly. All VIN tags are present, the CarFax is clear, and the car has 91k miles from new.

1993-BMW-M5-EngineThe car retained nice original Schwarz black paint until 2010 when it was vandalized, an unknown substance poured over most of the body eating the paint down to the bare metal. Respray in the factory original color was carried out by Dings and Things of Springfield, Missouri, whom the seller notes is the same shop responsible for all work contracted out by local exotic dealer Motorcars International. Following stripping of all remaining paint (including jambs for proper match), the car was resprayed using a multi-coat process that included replacement of all exterior trim, molding and seals. The 1993 model year had such exclusive options as BMW Motorsport door handles, staggered wheels, shadowline and granite silver exterior trim.

1993-BMW-M5-InteriorThe cloth and Alcantara M Sport interior is a custom install and well preserved and shows only lights signs of use. Carbon fiber trim complements the gray dash, doors and carpets nicely, and all gauges and electrics are described as functioning properly apart from the driver’s side window switch will occasionally stick. Doors have been fitted with Dynamat for extra sound insulation, the original, center console mounted cell phone is included separately, and the Alcantara headliner is clean and unmarked.
