Toyota Camry took back the number one midsize sedan sales crown in March that Nissan Altima had for one month in February. Ford Fusion had a great month and came very close from taking the number three spot from the Honda Accord. Refreshed Chevy Malibu is showing improvement, but it still could not hold on to fifth place due to Hyundai Sonata resurgence.
Mazda6 stumbled in March, but is still one of just two marks with growth after the first quarter. Yep, the majority of midsize sedans are in the red. This can be partially attributed to the strong crossover and truck sales.
Volkswagen Passat was a surprise gainer for the month its best March ever. (TFLcar reached out to Volkswagen for more details.) If you are worried about the Chrysler 200 cliff fall, please remember from that an all-new 2015 sedan is on its way and it will struggle with supply for a while.
